“Anonymous engaged #OpJustice4Rataeh this morning in response to the suicide of Rehtaeh Parsons. Justice Minister Ross Landy says that it is important for Nova Scotians to have faith in their justice system. Mr. Landy, justice is in your hands.

Anonymous has confirmed the identities of two of the four alleged rapists. We are currently confirming a third and it is only a matter of time before the fourth is identified as well.

Our demands are simple: We want the N.S. RCMP to take immediate legal action against the individuals in question. We encourage you to act fast. If we were able to locate these boys within 2 hours, it will not be long before someone else finds them.

We do not approve of vigilante justice as the media claims. That would mean we approve of violent actions against these rapists at the hands of an unruly mob. What we want is justice. And That’s your job. So do it.

Republicans must think Black people (and Latin@ people and LGBT people and every other group they’re trying to “outreach” to) are fucking stupid that they would actually ignore the recent history of the Republican party and vote GOP because one hundred and fifty years ago a Republican did something halfway decent. “Well, sure, the GOP consistently proposes laws that systematically marginalize me and people like me, and their current opinions on ‘states rights’ are the exact opposite of what Lincoln said, but HEY they once elected some Black people so I guess they must be ok! Rand Paul/Chris Christie 2016!” Really? Really?

In their defense, I suppose, Republicans must be fucking stupid to not know about that whole thing where Democrats used to be the conservative party and Republicans used to be the liberal party and that has kind of changed a little bit. History: only important when they think it will fool people into voting for them.

- comment left one the article that points out something I’ve been trying to articulate for a while.

And the use of this argument doesn’t even stop at Affirmative Action I’m seeing it being repeated time and time again with “why would they hire a black person with poor acting skills rather than a great white actor?” or that one time an anti-sj determined that white students earned their scholarships while people of color are handed them.

For some white people, it’s still troubling to think that a person of color might not be incapable or that they themselves might just be mediocre. Probably will get back to this later.
