Anonymous engaged #OpJustice4Rataeh this morning in response to the suicide of Rehtaeh Parsons. Justice Minister Ross Landy says that it is important for Nova Scotians to have faith in their justice system. Mr. Landy, justice is in your hands.

Anonymous has confirmed the identities of two of the four alleged rapists. We are currently confirming a third and it is only a matter of time before the fourth is identified as well.

Our demands are simple: We want the N.S. RCMP to take immediate legal action against the individuals in question. We encourage you to act fast. If we were able to locate these boys within 2 hours, it will not be long before someone else finds them.

We do not approve of vigilante justice as the media claims. That would mean we approve of violent actions against these rapists at the hands of an unruly mob. What we want is justice. And That’s your job. So do it.

The names of the rapists will be kept until it is apparent you have no intention of providing justice to Retaeh’s family. Please be aware that there are other groups of Anons also attempting to uncover this information and they may not to wish to wait at all. Better act fast.

Be aware that we will be organizing large demonstrations outside of your headquarters. The rapists will be held accountable for their actions. You will be held accountable for your failure to act.

That is all
We Are Anonymous.

Anonymous, in a statement responding to the suicide of seventeen-year-old Retaeh Parsons of Nova Scotia, Canada. She was allegedly gang-raped by four boys, one of whom is known to have photographed the attack. The facts of the case bear a chilling resemblance to Steubenville, Ohio police’s own blind eye to the rape and assault of another young girl.

If law enforcement chooses not to act, Anonymous will.

Good.

Warren Andrews had just finished putting up balloons for his stepdaughter’s 18th birthday party at their suburban home in Mayflower, Arkansas, when his wife came inside and said something was wrong. After stepping out of his house, and taking one glance, he immediately dialed 911.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but I’ve got a river of oil coming down the street at me,” Andrews told the operator. Five minutes later, the slick of noxious black crude spewing from a ruptured Exxon Mobil pipeline was eight feet wide, six inches deep and growing fast.
In this photo, spilled oil from Exxon pipeline runs through a neighborhood in Mayflower, Arkansas on March 29, 2013. Reuters was recently given access to the photo from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Exxon is refusing to let reporters anywhere near the accident. They’re also controlling the airspace above the spill. They don’t want you to see what’s happening. TOO BAD, EXXON.

Actually, Jon, that question doesn’t need to be answered. It answers itself.

Republicans must think Black people (and Latin@ people and LGBT people and every other group they’re trying to “outreach” to) are fucking stupid that they would actually ignore the recent history of the Republican party and vote GOP because one hundred and fifty years ago a Republican did something halfway decent. “Well, sure, the GOP consistently proposes laws that systematically marginalize me and people like me, and their current opinions on ‘states rights’ are the exact opposite of what Lincoln said, but HEY they once elected some Black people so I guess they must be ok! Rand Paul/Chris Christie 2016!” Really? Really?

In their defense, I suppose, Republicans must be fucking stupid to not know about that whole thing where Democrats used to be the conservative party and Republicans used to be the liberal party and that has kind of changed a little bit. History: only important when they think it will fool people into voting for them.

It’s so bizarre how when Affirmative Action is brought up, it more often then not ALWAYS leads to this specific dichotomy between the capable white person vs. an incapable minority - and it’s always this comparison.

comment left one the article that points out something I’ve been trying to articulate for a while.

And the use of this argument doesn’t even stop at Affirmative Action I’m seeing it being repeated time and time again with “why would they hire a black person with poor acting skills rather than a great white actor?” or that one time an anti-sj determined that white students earned their scholarships while people of color are handed them.

For some white people, it’s still troubling to think that a person of color might not be incapable or that they themselves might just be mediocre. Probably will get back to this later.
